Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens for Canon EOS SLR Cameras

    • If you're considering one of Canon's excellent 70-200mm lenses in addition to this lens, you may wish to consider the EF 24-70mm f/2.8 lens as an alternative
    • Excellent its a great lense
    • As for image quality, this lens is reasonably sharp, but it isn't as sharp as other current-generation Canon lenses
    • and I just WANTED one!)On a crop-body camera, both lenses seem a waste
    • or my primes why do i only get to use one lens when when there are so many other nice lenses out there
    • The best way to decide for yourself is to go to a camera store and try out both of these amazing lenses
    • I was amazed of how sharp the photos are zoomed in at the maximum in the Digital Photo Professional (DPP).This is my favorite lense for everyday walk-around use.
    • Both lenses have a place and a purpose, and both work very well.
    • These lenses have a defective feature and will all fail within a few years
    • Some reviews rant on and on about how bad certain lenses are without providing any feedback on what equipment they use
    • USM Lens is one of the best and most popular Canon general purpose lenses made
    • suite for everything, very sharp, very fast, great L series lenses. f4 at 105 looks stuning, the macro also is very decent.
    • The two lenses share some focal range, and at the 70 and 100mm lengths the 70-200 totally blows away the 24-105
    • This lens offers a compromise between the more expensive 24-70mm f2.8 and the less expensive non-L glass kit lenses.
    • I realize that I am being somewhat unfair in comparing the 24-105 to some exceptional lenses
    • Color aberration and sharpness around the size 100.mm is good with normal enlargements, however after the first two issues I lost desire to do any more tests on the lens, with my decision never downgrade lenses!!
    • I got this lens to complement my 10-22mm and 100-400mm lenses.
    • This lens rarely leaves the camera body as it is suitable for most situations, and the need to switch between inadequate kit lenses is gone -- the only other lens in my bag right now is a $
    • One of my most favorite new lenses.
    • I understand that most lenses do not perform as well at the low end of their aperture.
    • Nikon and Sigma both offer equivalent lenses and I strongly prefer this over either of the others
    • After all you are less likely to miss a shot if you have 1 versatile lens vs. 5 really great specialized lenses (not that you shouldn't get those too, but this is a good all around contender.)
    • The f/4.0 opening at first does not seem very "fast" but all my prime lenses are not much faster, and none of my vintage primes offer auto-focus and image stabilization.
    • I had no issues about the f4, I have other faster lenses in my arsenal
    • Only keep in mind, need some good light as it is not one of those $$$$ f/2.8L lenses, but for me it works great
    • I read all the reviews, I'm sure the people that said this is the best lens ever believed it, but I'm also sure these people are new to digital photography and really great lenses
    • Canon makes great lenses for all situations, and everyones application is a little different
    • I do love my L-series lenses.
    • the only down side of this lens is that i dont get to use any of my other fancy L lenses
    • You can tell a difference in the colors of photos taken with this lens and cheaper lenses.
    • Optics are great, the build is what you would expect from this lense - well made! This is attached to a T2i Canon body.
    • There really isn't such thing as the "best" lenses, just the right ones for you depending on what your needs are / what type of photography you do
    • the Canon EF 70-300mm DO - all excellent lenses.
    • I love this lense
    • Good lense
    • One of my favorite lenses
    • This lense is better
    • and so it manages not to collect dust as the other lenses in my arsenal do.
    • As we all know prime lenses are the sharpest, but the color on the 24-105 is impeccable
    • This is one of the best lenses I've ever used.
    • This lense is capable of very sharp and clear photographs.
    • The 24-105 is one of the most versatile lenses I have ever used
    • One of my favorite lenses.
    • Fantastic lense.
    • there are decent cheaper lenses out there if photography is limited to family outings.
    • L lenses are well worth the extra cost
    • In any case, this lens and the price range are surrounded by so many nicer lenses that justifying this mediocre lens without a kit lens discount would be difficult.
    • This is one of the most popular lenses, and with good reason -- you get a lot of bang for your buck
    • For photography it's also a great lens, but other lenses should be looked at to guarantee your needs will be met with regard to aperture.
    • it's possible that Canon will continue to make good lenses.
    • there are decent cheaper lenses out there if photography is limited to family outings.
    • After reading every review I could find, I bought three well-regarded lenses to try on my Canon Rebel T1i.
    • The zoom range, from medium wide-angle to medium telephoto, certainly makes this one of Canon's most versatile "L" series lenses
    • I was a little bit surprised to find the first lens I really wanted to get back was not of the more expensive L lenses, but this one
    • The more expensive L series lenses feature weather-proofing
    • The lense is tack sharp as well as giving great bokem in the background.
    • Best stree lenses that I ever had
    • It's one of the most versatile L lenses and is very useful for different situations
    • If you want to buy canon lens, definitely go to L series lens which guarantee great image quality, especially this 24-105
    • (24-70L - look, I'm talking about taking the photo gear along with all that stuff small children need, or the mothers think they need ;) or were them not very versatile (the fifties) or the quality felt bellow the expectation (28-105 and the cheap kit lens). After shooting with this not so well regarded 24-105 L I must say it was exactly what I needed: delivers high IQ pictures with strong contrast and yes, it can blur the background enough for most cases - at least for portraits shot at 3 to 4 meters alway
    • I was pleased with this older lens and held off buying the more expensive 'L' cause I didn't think it could be that much of an improvement.
    • The 24-105 L IS seemed like a good replacement: it got good reviews, has more reach, AND it has IS
    • Almost bought the shorter, faster L series but glad I went with this one.
    • Why, I compared this to my only other Canon's Zoom lens --70-200mm F4 L, which is also the cheapest 'L' lens from Canon
    • L would be perfect for the 7D.
    • I looked for other options and this damn L lens just kept on popping in my mind
    • suite for everything, very sharp, very fast, great L series lenses. f4 at 105 looks stuning, the macro also is very decent.
    • Solid L Construction*
    • , 70-200 F4L IS + 1.4xII (all Canon)Apart from the Luxurious L mechanicals and feel, the IS and focus seems to be top notch
    • An awesome "L" series lens
    • the only down side of this lens is that i dont get to use any of my other fancy L lenses
    • I've seen many reviews heaping praise on the Canon 24-105 f/4 L, and I'll just add to it.
    • After I started using it I noticed a HUGE difference in the quality of photos after switching to this lense, and now I refuse to buy anything but these beautiful L series lenses
    • Outstanding L lens.
    • My EF-S 15-85mm lens delivers a similar FOV for APS-C, has better IQ, and it doesn't even carry the renowned "L" designation
    • This lens has been great and if you are in the market for a high quality lens in this Focal length, spend a little more and get the L series like this if you can
    • A compact L standard IS zoom that is an excellent walkabout lens
    • I am already eyeing 17-40 f/4 and even worse, 14mm L
    • The zoom range, from medium wide-angle to medium telephoto, certainly makes this one of Canon's most versatile "L" series lenses
    • I was a little bit surprised to find the first lens I really wanted to get back was not of the more expensive L lenses, but this one
    • It's one of the most versatile L lenses and is very useful for different situations
    • I go with fast non-L primes, 28F2.8, 50F1.4 and 85F1.8
    • Upgraded from the Canon EF-S 18-135mm and the difference was incredible
    • (Note: it has an EF-S, not EF mount, so it's not compatible with the
