The photos were very good, but I couldn't call them great.

For me, shooting family photo's and candids this is a great very responsive lens with amazing photo quality, build quality and great color representation.

Whatever your model of Canon camera, you'll get superior photos with it

I have since received the lens from a reputable dealer (B&H Photo) and the lens works as advertised.

I do have the 50mm 1.8 prime that is easy to carry and gives surprisingly great sharp photos with both my 6D and 60D Canons

Low light motion situations are the only place where the extra f-stop of the f/2.8 would be an advantage, but your photos will still be soft.

My recommendation is to spend the money even if you are a simple photo hobbiest like me

The 18-200MM is an okay lens, but you are compromising great quality photos for convenience.

I made a decision to spend the extra money for better photos, so now I just have to learn enough to make the investment pay off

The lens was in perfect condition and has given me hundreds of great sharp photos.
