While it certainly delivers better image quality than the EF 28

For me the reason to own this lens is the unique combination of tiny size, image stabilization and excellent image quality

It is not the best quality 24mm that exists, but it certainly is the best under $1000 and it offers a level of portability that higher priced 24mm lenses do not.

24mm f/2.8 IS USM's rugged build quality and good image quality will leave no regrets

The build quality is excellent.

This lens has slightly better quality then the Canon 24-70 2.8 II, it has stabilization so you can get sharp shots down to around 1/4 of a shutter speed and its very compact.

Excellent picture quality

This lens is sharp--just as sharp as my 35L, if not sharper

In fact, in some ways it exceeds them in terms of being much less prone to flare than either of the more expensive L lenses
