This is a pancake lens, and is meant to be a good general purpose lens with as little frills as possible to make it small and easy to take with you, while still be a good lens for a good price (that is a lot to say all at once).

Wish it had IS, but the price is unbeatable.

It is a wide angle so more things fit into the frame...even more so then the viewfinder (you will see this upon upload) great lens for a great price.

For a cheap price you get L Series pictures its really that good go for it you wont be disappointed.

Prime lenses made specifically for APS-C sensor cameras are rare and more rare are wide-angle lenses with a decent f stop and even more rare than that to find them at a sensible price of under $150
