If your lens can only resolve at 12MP you're not getting sharp images when you blow up your 30MP images

Dual pixel is accomplished when each pixel in the sensor is split in half, capturing a left and a right image

I have been using this camera for about 6 months now and am blown away from the overall build quality, usability, and incredible image quality

The 5D Mark III's improvements over its predecessor in the form of autofocus were almost immediately evident upon use; the 5D IV's improvements in the form of tracking, high ISO capability, dynamic range, and video features take time with the camera to manifest themselves, but are no less real and no less meaningful; they make it easier to get better images in tougher conditions than is possible with the 5D Mark III

I initially disappointed with the sharpness of the images but realized that image stabilization, while amazingly helpful, is no substitute for a good tripod at slower speeds or a high shutter speed to ensure truly sharp images at high magnification

It takes sharp images and it's super fast

I also don’t seem to have any issue so far with soft images which people have said happens with high resolution sensors although I have only used L series lenses.6

On the stills side, the camera performs great, the sensor provides sharp images with very nice details, even though there is a low pass AA filter - good glass helps; like the 85mm f1.8 from Tamron :)

More like an ISO 3200 image on the Mark II

I performed some (unscientific) tests between the 2 lenses on the Mark IV and found that the 24-70 lens was a bit sharper than the old 24-105 and also produced slightly better image contrast it was not a huge improvement

Stacking such short exposures to yield a meaningful image is only possible if the sensor has low read noise such that the low photon signal makes it past the read noise floor in each frame

I bought a 5DS for architectural photography, which it delivers impressive image resolution; but for weddings the 5DS was overkill.

It handles well, has great image quality, does everything that I need it to do, and has some great bells and whistles

I took 200 images at my kids soccer game and it worked as easy as the 5diii.

Its much less expensive than the other wifi options mentioned above, which I may use if i need a greater range or faster image review

But besides that, the images just look great

very fast and accurate focusing system not to mention the sharp images

The 5D IV seems to be hidden in the shadows of the D850 and Sony's a7rIII but is still a good camera with a good form factor, excellent image quality, and a GREAT lens selection -especially from the likes of Tamron and Sigma.

Albeit I have gotten great image enlargements out of my 22MP cameras.

I know I'm going to get a usable image

I've taken shots at ISO 400 and boosted by 3.2 stops in Lightroom (the equivalent of ISO 3675) and get very clean images

It's an added bonus for me since my images are always crooked.

As an owner of every EOS 5D model since the original, this model is just as impressive as with each generational upgrade.
