Don't get me wrong, I love the X-Pro2 and already have some great images from it, but it can't beat the M3 for size

You cannot turn off exposure simulation so if you are manually exposing for a flash, the image on the screen goes dark so you cannot compose or focus your shot

Great image quality, however no view finder was a show-stopper for me

It's SLOW to write to the card, battery life is terrible and unless it's on a tripod you're not going to get nice clear images.

If you don't plan on shooting a lot of moving things and you just want excellent image quality in a small package at a decent price with a selection of good lenses (not many, but the ones in existence are very good), then look no further.

I'll keep testing it but pixel peeping at some inside, night shots yielded very clean images

It is an excellent general purpose camera for those who want something nicer than a point and shoot, the ability to change lenses, good image and video quality, and relative compact size that will fit a system in a resonably small bag

Great image quality even with just the lens kit.

Between this and choosing the right Picture Style sharpness, there is no reason not to get very sharp images with this camera

It works great paired with the 22 f2 as a lightweight travel camera with great image quality.

But once you imported the images into Lightroom, the results were ugly: you quickly discovered that most of the time, the focus was off, and while the images were sometimes usable, they were never ones you were proud to share

The images are nice and crisp, and the chromatic aberrations of the lenses are nothing that a little tweaking can't take care of

Still image quality was fine.

The crop sensor M3 with 22/2 wide open produced at least as good images as my 17-40 set at 35 mm at f4

The EPL-1 did a good job of pretending to be a good camera: shutter speeds were fast, and previewed images looked sharp and beautiful

Like the M and SL1 before it, the M3 features Movie Servo: camcorder-like follow focus

That being said, the IQ of the camera is a great step up from the already great EOS M, and the AF is greatly, greatly improved

Not as good as my 5D3 but good for the occasional use I put it to.
