I just use the autosettings on this camera WITHOUT a tripod and the photos come out fabulous without blur.

Anyway, I was taking some pictures inside and when I pushed the button to take a picture, the flash popped up right away and I got a great photo!

I used the softwear to edit and improve photos I have already stored from my digital point and shoot cameras, and it cleaned them up really nice.

I was intimidated by all that you supposedly needed to do to take great photos

I browsed the instructions and have been looking up info on the internet on how to take better photo's (especially indoors at my kid's concerts in dark auditoriums).

It takes great photos and I have had a lot of fun figuring out all of the features and learning how to capture those great shots.

Other than the light weight (which emphasizes shake), this camera is absolutely perfect for both beginners and intermediate photographers (or amatuers who like sharp, luxuriant photos without having to take a 4 year college course to get them!).

I have ended up with some sharp, well lit indoor photos that are the best I have ever taken.

I returned it and got a Nikon D5200, which felt much better and the lens was firm with the focus ring (it also cost $400 more though).The photos from this camera were alright with auto-focus, but my Nikon Coolpix 7000 actually outperformed this camera and even the D5200 for sharp, deep colored photos of macros.

I did encounter some problems downloading photos to my laptop using iPhoto, which seemed to choke and skip random photos (a problem I blame on Apple's software, not the camera), so using the "EOS Utility" provided with the camera instead of iPhoto is recommended

It may be the entry model for the Canon DSLR line, but for the money the photos are gorgeous with just the kit lens
