The 18-55m lens is the standard Rebel lens that has been known for a decade to produce good shots.
I could not have been happier: not only was this camera extremely easy to operate, it has so many settings for different situations that I was able to get the great shots that I wanted without knowing a lot about exposure, etc

It's also a great starter DSLR camera if you don't have much experience with DSLR and are on a budget.
Definitely not a high end system, but great bang for you buck if you looking for a good quality starter setup.
My husband bought it for me because the quality was not great on the cell pics and I love to shoot sunrises and sunsets...
If you read a comment that negates the quality of the photo, see if it is a professional reviewing the camera because I made the mistake of judging the camera based on those

It has great image quality and good interface, along with plenty of modes for different situations or preferences

ive only used it two times and it would not shoot a picture i went threw the settings and it still does not work right this was a big disapointment this was a storm chase cam to replace a old nikon camera and i cant even use it because its in for warranty repair at united camera
This camera is able to be fully automated and still take great pictures, or you can use some or all of the manual settings.
I like the camera, I really should take a photography class to use it properly, but even as a beginner I can figure out enough to take great pictures
I bought this package last year and now hate it its been at the camera repair shop twice with issues it refuses to auto focus and the shutter button does not respond properly and the meue keeps poping up and does not reset unless you push the little button near the eye

I use this camera for wild life photography and am soon going to upgrade the 75-300 with a sigma 150-500 mm lens but the 75-300 mm is still a great lens
The lens that is included is finicky with real close pics (macro), but for a beginner, it's great
It is not the faster ultrasonic lens so use a bit of patience
The bag it comes with is nice quality and has enough room for and extra lens, battery, and the camera
