The camera is great, the extras are good quality

Takes really nice quality photos.

That said, it is still a decent price for add ons for a first camera, they just aren't the best quality add ons...the slave flash is pretty cheap but functional and most beginners don't use this type of thing right away anyway.

I suggest you avoid the accessory kit and just invest that $50 into better quality gear.
