Luster finish is slight, and is a good compromise between high-gloss and matt finish.

The luster photo paper finish is less shiny than Canon's Photo Paper Pro Platinum, and I find it good for when I am mounting photographs in a glass frame which has it's own reflective characteristics

For something I really want to come out great, I use "pro" versions, but wish they came in a luster-type finish.
