The rings are stiff, you'll have to open this with two hands, but they are secure.

My 4th grader also said some times the rings open automatically and his stuff falls out, and this happens to several kids in his class with the same binder

However, one of the rings failed (flops loosely) a couple months into the year and papers started falling out or ripping.

They really need to put more durable ring mechanisms in these binders if they are to work for busy and active kids.

The 3-ring broke after 3 months and the exterior is fraying

but sometimes (too often) the rings crack open and everything spills out.it is lightweight and easy to use.

Although, even when my notebook was not 'filled to capacity, the rings have opened by themselves so that my papers fell out which meant I had to reorganize my papers and place them back on the rings and reclose.

Would give 5 stars but sometimes the rings open inside the case on its own, so when I open it the plastic pages fall out.

The cover is durable, not a cardboard, very strong rings inside, should hold up to the wear and tear of opening up and holding the folders themselves
