The built in pouch to hold pencils is perfect, and there is enough room to add an additional pencil pouch if needed, which we did

The case is well built, sturdy, well organized, which is why I would have given it a 4 or 5 star rating.

Other than the ring issue - it appears well built.... but the binder rings are a critical component.
