It zips up so not loose papers flying everywhere and also has a second zipper that opens on the side opposite of the handle that makes it easy to quickly access anything that is stored in the accordion divider

so it protects the papers inside and nothing will fall out of the binder

The second one, only a day later, had one ring that overlapped when it closed... and of course, papers got stuck and ripped on that ring too

he has ADHD and was always losing things/putting papers in the wrong folders, etc

so papers move easily, very sapcious with additional pockets for pencils ect. and a pocket with files, but best of all (for my son who is organizationally challenged) if you fail to get all your materials in, just zip it closed!
