Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Playstation 3

    • First, as a gamer who played the original Castlevania on the NES and has generally enjoyed every 2D incarnation, I can tell you this in no way feels like Castlevania at all.
    • Like Darksiders from a year ago, this new Castlevania isn't afraid to "borrow" from some of the best concepts in modern gaming.
    • Like another reviewer said, this game is Castlevania in name only
    • Hands down this is the worst Castlevania game I have ever played.
    • but Castlevania isn't bad at all
    • Even though Castlevania: LOS gets the hack and slash/QTE portion of the game right to a phenomenal level, it also gets punished by negative nay-sayers for being too much like other successful games of the action genre
    • it's not like the old castlevania where you had to back-track or navigate using a map system.
    • When i bought this game i thought i was in for some mind blowing Castlevania "kill vampires and hordes of demons" type of game
    • Castlevania for the Nes blew me away because it was pretty much the first horror themed game for any system and it had great gameplay, a nice difficulty curve, and imaginative boss battles
    • Though I never played every Castlevania game, I did like Castlevania 64 which many people hated.
    • If u knew and enjoy castlevania before it becomes metroidvania u will like and enjoy this game a lot more than the "reviewers" did.
    • I bought this game for my wife, a big castlevania fan who also really enjoyed the God of War series
    • I have always believed castlevania should in large part be free movement three dimensional, more like curse of darkness as opposed to a charater moving across a ''fixed'' scene.
    • Level design and variety of terrain not as varied or amazingly fantastical as Castlevania, but awesome enough to be totally engrossing (the way you could just check out the forest in Avatar all day).

    • First of all let me say that I have played a lot of Castlevania Games in my time, not all, but some, and this has got to be the best I have played, right after Symphony Of The Night, Lament Of Innocence, and Super Castlevania for the SUPER NES
    • I'm thrilled with it, and as a big classic Castlevania fan, that should say it all.
    • Pick it up, but don't expect anything resembling the beloved Castlevania's of the past
    • Castlevania was new ground for me
    • If you've played the series from the beginning and love 'classic' Castlevania, you're probably not going to like this game.
    • However, compared to the other 7.5 games out there, Castlevania TRULY outshines the competition.
    • was great as well gameplay took the best bits from uncharted, god of war, and previous castlevania's graphics superb but not as good as uncharted among thieves but still beautiful and they realy captured how europe would of looked like durring the 10th centuary overall excellent edition to my action adventure games looking forward for a sequel.
    • my favorite Castlevania game has to be Symphony of the Night
    • This Game ripped off all the recent game who ripped castlevania off first...chain cross/sword from castlevania inspired kratos' chain daggers so Castlevania ripped it's style back from god of war...and did it very well
    • However it does everything with polish and is an impressive reboot of the old whip-and-kill NES Castlevania
    • My son says this is one of the best Castlevania he has played its a real challange for him
    • One of the biggest criticisms of this game has been that the overall reboot of the franchise feels nothing like classic Castlevania games
    • My psp never had any charm because they never released a good castlevania for it
    • Also, this new Castlevania might not be the castlevania we knew previously, but I myself, welcome the new facelift it has been given, and hope that they make a sequel in the near future
    • But I guess these are minor qualms, because we play Castlevania for the distinct gameplay of that series, right
    • My other favorite castlevania title is Curse of Darkness, which could have been the epitome of castlevania development if the main charater was simon belmont instead of the devil forger whose name i cannot think of right now.
    • Is more action than exploration, like castlevania was before CSOTN (i love this
    • And no God of War is not in my top 5 *Super Metroid, Castlevania 2, Spider-man and Venom
    • In great Castlevania fanfare, Gebriel gathers relics that boost his powers as he learns new moves and acquires subweapons
    • What kills Castlevania
    • First of all let me say that I have played a lot of Castlevania Games in my time, not all, but some, and this has got to be the best I have played, right after Symphony Of The Night, Lament Of Innocence, and Super Castlevania for the SUPER NES
    • BUT, not as good as the other Castlevania games (actually its true, the game feels like a totally different game altogether).
    • Like Darksiders from a year ago, this new Castlevania isn't afraid to "borrow" from some of the best concepts in modern gaming.
    • This is definitely not for those looking for a classic Castlevania experience
    • It became more Castlevania-like, but still not what you might have expected
    • Like a film paying homage to a legendary director, Castlevania strives to create a unique identity by interweaving radically new concepts within the scope of the genre's hardest hitting greats.
    • So sad, i'll always LOVE castlevania..
    • I pre-ordered this game way back when there was still no release date as I am an avid Castlevania fan
    • What is supposed to be a reboot of the beloved Castlevania series will leave fans confused and maybe a little angry.
    • Castlevania on the other hand, well, lets make this simple and make a bulleted
    • The scenery is sinister and vast, giving this game the perfect Castlevania environment
    • Back then, Castlevania was more about straightforward action inspired by gothic horror, as opposed to backtracking within a single location to open up previously blocked paths with new abilities.
    • This is an AMAZING game, I loved it, Castlevania needed this kind of change
    • Compared to the best Castlevania has to offer, this Lords of Shadow game is pathetic
    • DID I MENTION FREE CASTLEVANIA SOT GAME WITH THIS GAME?CONS.MINOR ISSUES WITH PUZZLES
    • If you're an avid Castlevania fan, buy with caution and don't go in with any expectations or you'll be sorely disappointed.
    • Is the best castlevania game on 3d to date and to be a new beginning, to me, is a very good one
    • While I might not have been the biggest fan of Mercury Steam's previous games, they really managed to knock Castlevania
    • In great Castlevania fanfare, Gebriel gathers relics that boost his powers as he learns new moves and acquires subweapons
    • Many of the boss fights are quite epic and amazing as you move along
    • :Castlevania PROSGRAPHICSFor those of you who enjoyed GOW3 as I did, well, Castelvania BLOOOOWS it away.
    • You will most likely die a
    • Once activated, light magic will heal you as you hit your opponents and shadow magic makes your attacks much more damaging

    • It's a hack n' slash and there will always be the 'light' attack button, the 'heavy' attack button and a grab and jump
