First, as a gamer who played the original Castlevania on the NES and has generally enjoyed every 2D incarnation, I can tell you this in no way feels like Castlevania at all.

Like Darksiders from a year ago, this new Castlevania isn't afraid to "borrow" from some of the best concepts in modern gaming.

Like another reviewer said, this game is Castlevania in name only

Hands down this is the worst Castlevania game I have ever played.

Even though Castlevania: LOS gets the hack and slash/QTE portion of the game right to a phenomenal level, it also gets punished by negative nay-sayers for being too much like other successful games of the action genre

it's not like the old castlevania where you had to back-track or navigate using a map system.

Castlevania for the Nes blew me away because it was pretty much the first horror themed game for any system and it had great gameplay, a nice difficulty curve, and imaginative boss battles

First of all let me say that I have played a lot of Castlevania Games in my time, not all, but some, and this has got to be the best I have played, right after Symphony Of The Night, Lament Of Innocence, and Super Castlevania for the SUPER NES

This Game ripped off all the recent game who ripped castlevania off first...chain cross/sword from castlevania inspired kratos' chain daggers so Castlevania ripped it's style back from god of war...and did it very well

However it does everything with polish and is an impressive reboot of the old whip-and-kill NES Castlevania

One of the biggest criticisms of this game has been that the overall reboot of the franchise feels nothing like classic Castlevania games

My psp never had any charm because they never released a good castlevania for it
