the books it recommended were lame the interface into the kindle store wasn't as good as the kindle app for phones.

Nothing could be further from the truth - this Kindle is awesome!

I love my new Kindle.

Also i had a much older Kindle before this and it crashed within a year with no waranty.

I love my new Kindle, I had the 7 inch, and decided I wanted a little bit bigger one this time , and purchased the 8 inch.

This Kindle works perfectly, and had no noticable signs of wear.

Now, likely after the warranty has expired, the kindle is incredibly slow to respond to touch and will get stuck full-screen in apps without any way to return to the homepage
