When I installed the amp/subwoofer combo it did not work

It is very easy to get caught up with the newfound bass these units produce and forget that you are using a compact powered subwoofer and push them further than you should

but adding this sub allowed me to focus on where the Alpines Type R's really shine, mid range and treble, while allowing the sub to basically handle all the bass.
