Eventually I figured out that the white card changes color in reaction to the blue light from the flashlight, and that shining the light through these glasses reduces the reaction, implying that much of that blue light is being blocked

I didn't love all the colors, the blue was kind of chintzy looking but for the most part these are nice looking and didn't look too huge on my average size woman's face
