The downside over a blade grinder is that the ground coffee spits out into a catch bin which, as others have mentioned, creates a static charge and the coffee grinds stick some to the sides

So now I have coffee grinds shooting all over my counter

When I open the lid, I always get fine coffee grinds flying out

This machine spreads coffee grinds everywhere when you remove the coffee grind box or put it back or open the lid to the the ground coffee.

I think it's because the plastic seems to always have static so coffee grinds adhere to the outside and the inside of the catch.

I love that the beans can be stored in the hopper at the top, and there are many settings for how finely you like your coffee ground

I was contacted by Chefman customer service after I wrote my initial review complaining about uneven coffee grind and an extremely messy experience

Works well but the collection cup gets scratched up by coffee grinds and does not stay clear for very long

the coffee ground stays sticked on the container walls, and grinder body, so when you detach the container, the ground is falling around the grinder body, so its messy and you have to be careful to manipulate

They asked a couple of questions, then replaced my grinder and gave me some tips on how to avoid the buildup of static that causes the messy coffee grinds

and it produces a lot of dust even at the largest grind setting it creates a lot of dust.. the grind container gets a static build up and the coffee grinds stick to it badly making a mess to open or pour it out, you waste a lot of coffee..

I like my coffee finely ground, but the grounds are not as fine as I like them, no matter how I set the control.
