The range is excellent (for non-police radar signatures) it will go bonkers about 3-4 miles from a Best Buy and Wal-Mart however it only gives around 50-200 feet of warning for a police vehicle activity pointing a radar gun at it and then only a mild 1-2 beep rather than the 5 manic

It has a long range as well.

And the range is amazing too, I can pick up ka band from three quarters of a mile at the least and the 360 coverage works quite well

I drive mainly in a mountainous area, so the range is limited due to the mountains blocking the signals, I imagine on an open road with few obstructions, this would provide more protection

People say its range is a problem because it does not have that long

problem being, if i were to be driving around a 70 degree corner, this detector wont pick it up until the patrolmans laser is either on me (too late) or right in front of me giving me only a few seconds to respond (makes the use of a radar detector pointless as you cant slow down from speeding that fast) i just had 2 seperate occasions this last wknd.... didnt alert until 1 or 2 seconds of seeing the sherriff.i literally about threw this unit out the window after that

This item doesn't really work as they indicate it does

The latch to remove the unit from the windshield mount is so far forward and stiff as to render it inoperable

Obviously and it goes without saying just make sure you're current with local laws about detectors as well as for bringing them onto military installations.
