I attempted to use it and hang light weighted items and it kept falling off.

Having checked the weight of the wreath, I can only conclude is was the force of the door being closed, in a normal way, not slammed, that caused the item to give and fall.

I purchased this item to hang a large wreath outside on my house

i only ordered 1 to try my heaviest item on to see how it does, it is my intention to put several up in a row for hanging clothing items, but i will not be ordering more of this color, and will have to remove this one eventually because the dark grey is an eyesore with my brown/beige decor.
