The "skin" is great quality as well as all the tools and sutures

I don't write reviews much, but I wanted to share my thoughts about this outstanding suture practice kit

When I try to practice deep sutures, such as the simple buried suture, the suture rips right through the silicone even when I pull it through VERY slowly and gently

This kit is one of the best suture kits I’ve seen and used out there

The sutures are cheap and lose their shape within several stitches

They were awesome and even are sending extra practice sutures free of charge

For what I needed to practice, which was simple interrupted sutures and knot tying practice, it works perfectly

I'm an aspiring veterinarian and this is really helpful in practicing my suturing

Comes with lots of supplies and they will even send you more free sutures!

Here are some of the pros and cons that I found:Pros:- Tons of different sutures- great practice for simple interrupted sutures and knot

The set doesn't come with enough sutures to master the suturing, so expect to have to buy more separately

They are great for practicing your sutures

For practicing interrupted suture, running suture, matress (Donati) and other types of "epidermal" surface are excellent

Lastly, the sutures sometimes can pull through and rip the silicone so I would recommend taking bigger bites of "tissue" when you practice suturing

It works alright for superficial sutures, although if you pull the suture through too quickly, it will also rip right through the top of the skin

The skin material seemed fine at first and without even over-tightening my knots they would just rip right through, not as sturdy as it should be which ruins the incision line because once the material is ripped you can't run the suture through that area ever again and once you do that in too many areas there's really no space to work anymore

You can see inthe picture I was able to lay some horizontal mattress sutures easily with the 5-0 silk

I have some trouble with the silicone pad when practicing subcutaneous sutures because it breaks, but still a great product.

Has everything needed to master suturing.

It says there is a mesh to strengthen but this silicon kit lets sutures, especially the thinner silk, rip right through

and it's good to practice simple superficial sutures.

The sutures are great

I wasn't really able to do any superficial suturing and had to go deeper on the pad just so I wouldn't rip through it even with lightly pulling on the suture.
