The range and throughput are both good---amazingly so for the price!By the way, to use this as a WAP next to an existing wireless router all you have to do is (1) give the new router an IP address not within the same range as the existing router (e.g., if existing router is 192.168.1.1, and its DHCP range is 50-200, then you could name this 192.168.1.49) and (2) then turn off DHCP on the new router and (3) set up whatever security you want on the new router (remember, it is its own radio), such as WPA2, etc.
