I recommend this PSU to mid range PC builders that need to save money on the PSU but not go too cheap

Perfect PSU for someone on a budget who doesn't have a particularly power-hungry system - love that it's semi-modular, but wish it had included just one more cable for peripherals.

And the PSU is no louder then case fans as in I do not hear any increase in noise have dual fans push / pull on a 140mm Radiator 1 exhaust with 2 intake fans.

It's a HTPC, it's meant to go into a living room, advertising as a selling feature of it's 500 watt psu sorta makes you think the PSU is reasonably quiet for the living room

My old PSU ( the F-16 jet I was referring to earlier) was able to push my processor up to 4.6 ghz and it would not crash on me, however that one was rated at 550w

Throughout my last few PCs, I noticed one common problem; after about a month or so, the PSU begins to whine.

I give it 4 stars because it looks nice, is of high quality, performs well, and I would say is a perfect PSU for a lower end computer or even a higher end computer that doesn't consume a ton of power.

This PSU is quieter than the Silverstone SFX-L ("long") PSUs which fit a 120mm fan.

They just need to update that one cable and this psu would be perfect for any build

For example, the CPU power connector can be split in half to create a 4 pin connector instead of an 8 pin connector.-Fairly cheap ATX PSU compared to other power supplies of this quality.-Comes with 4 screws to hold the power supply in and comes with Zip ties for cable management which was very useful.-Comes with plenty of extra cables for SATA

I don't know if I just got a defective psu or if the molex connector is supposed to provide more power, either way everything is currently running now without problems so far.

But as for the VS550, if you are looking for a low cost, decent quality PSU that should last 5 years or more, the price is great and it should power any single GPU and any consumer level CPU without any issues.

Its been like a month and 8 days since i bought this item, and it already blew out, i am not satisfied with the product, I was in the middle of a Rocket league game and all of sudden *POP* dead psu, sounded like something popped, scared me to death.
