• Reviews around fan (3.24 of 5)

CORSAIR CX Series, CX600, 600 Watt, 80+ Bronze Certified, Non-Modular Power Supply

    • There are much quieter 90mm fans they could have used
    • If you have a mid-size or smaller, the cables will fill up a bulk of your inside.[---Fan Noise---]
    • Great PSU can almost never hear the fan and the cables that come with it look great
    • as of posting this, it runs like a champ with all the fans i have attached to its hub, good for about 2-4 years max
    • The PSU unit works fine, but the fan makes a slight clicking/rattle after 4 months.
    • of Full load the fan barely works or sucks any dust, I love this power supply.
    • If you're spending this much for a power supply, you probably have a few because you also spent $$$ on a decent mobo! This thing is also QUIET with a nice, LARGE fan.
    • The fan is nearly silent and hasn't showed me any reason to give a negative review just yet
    • The fan does not turn on until you reach a certain load (see graph) which makes it silent when possible, but it also has a nice, large fan which allows it to cool quietly when necessary
    • Fan is super quiet!
    • It's surprisingly quiet as well, tiny fans are usually pretty loud, but this one is quiet, but still audible
    • Had to check several times after installing that the fan was working.
    • My previous Corsair PSU worked fine for two years when the fan stopped working inside of it, I decided that since it hadn't taken any other components with it and that the only problem was the fan I would get another corsair product, this time with an upgrade in voltage from a 600
    • Fan broke
    • That isn't usually much of an issue for me anyway, but some users absolutely hate loud fans so Corsair is a great option because you can leave your fan on overnight, and depending what CPU cooling you have, you can have your computer be almost silent when it's at idle
    • 12 FansUnder load, the fan is nice and quiet, and when at idle the fan shuts down for silent operation.
    • The good:- Silent Fan
    • Plenty of wattage, and pretty quiet fan.
    • Fan also made a horrible noise.
    • Modular, Quiet, Fan Speed Can be adjusted
    • Aside from the clicking sound when the computer turns on, this fan is quiet
    • The buzzing was quieter than the fan ramping which sucks now.
    • You know the cheap battery powered handheld foam fans that kids buy at toy stores
    • It replaced my old HX1050 (btw still working since 2012), which was fine, but had no fan switch (like Hybrid/Normal in AX860) as an option, making annoying spin starts/stops, and was kind of overkill for my workstation
    • Easy instillation, quiet fan, and works wonderfully
    • Quiet fan
    • The fan in my old power supply was making buzzing, grinding noises for a few months, so I bought this power supply as a replacement.
    • My only slight disappointment is that the fan is louder than my previous power supply
    • Recently the PSU starting making weird noises on PC boot up, almost as if the fan was loose but after a few seconds after the fan reached idle RPM it would go away
    • The fan in this power supply changes speed according to heat, so it is very quiet
    • The fan on that is so loud, I'm going to sell
    • not sure if it's normal for cooling fan to have a constant subtle rattle but i can't stand it, defect with the cooling fan/motor/bearings
    • not sure if it's normal for cooling fan to have a constant subtle rattle but i can't stand it, defect with the cooling fan/motor/bearings
    • The Zero fan is whisper quiet when in use and the fan test was useful to ensure the product worked (even though I also have a PSU tester/load).The corsair link and configurable 12V+ rails guarantee this will be in my next two builds, that along with an extensive 10 year warranty.
    • CX650 gave new life to my desktop, now more stable, easy enough installation, had to check if the fan was working very very quiet
    • fan is quiet and can't really hear any coil whine
    • Fantastic fan and cooling
    • Made it apart of my build and just gave a burst of power and stopped working... the fans move for a half a second but don't work
    • fan making rattle noise as if broken and cant get any help.......
    • and I prefer a supply that is less dependent on the fan and has the ability to survive even if the fan stops working
    • When the fan is actually spinning properly its the loudest fan in my PC
    • The fan is very quiet, and often times it isn't even running while in the hybrid mode
    • "Low noise 80 PLUS Bronze certified efficiency and clever fan design allow for little or no detectable fan noise during regular operation
    • Bonus cooling fan, plus it runs quiet just like before.
    • Running a 6700k and a 980ti at load, the fan still doesn't turn on and it totally silent
    • This PSU has a quiet fan, and the fan doesn't run under normal, light load
    • The fan became very noisy even under moderate workloads and was audible from across the room
    • AX860 sounds much better, I mean like it does not exist, no clicks when turned on, no fan noise behind the chassis and quadro's fans
    • Great power with silent fan
    • The fan made loud noises until it finally stopped and the unit began to smell like hot electronics
    • I had a 750W that just started making some weird fan noise but not sure the fans can be replaced but needed a bit more power
    • My previous Corsair PSU worked fine for two years when the fan stopped working inside of it, I decided that since it hadn't taken any other components with it and that the only problem was the fan I would get another corsair product, this time with an upgrade in voltage from a 600
    • Mine came with a defective, rattling fan
    • ’s computer with this power supply for no other reason than the silent fan option.
    • Super quiet as the fan almost never has to come on (in hybrid mode)
    • Super quiet fan, that doesn't even come on in normal use.
    • At the time the fans I bought for the case were considered quiet
    • Fan stopped working.. overheated and the whole room smells like burnt xformer and Printed Circuit board..less than 7 months old.. do not buy this junk
    • First unit arrived with intermittent fan issue
    • The fan is extremely loud, and spins up quickly with even minimal loading
    • so I have no option as far psu goes, but if Silverstone sfx would use better and quieter fans I would pass on this psu
    • Higher end PSUs, like this one will offer modularity, lots of connectors, a silent fan, and sometimes monitoring options
    • The CPU Fan sounds like machine saw compared to this.
    • The fan on this power supply is very quiet - much quieter than my other CORSAIR power supply
    • While gaming, the fan ramps up but even at the highest speed the fan is still quieter than my GPU so hence not very noticeable
    • There is a fan but its a quiet fan
    • x 140mm(L)).Quiet fan is really nice, and it is also temperture controlled so does not spin when not needed
    • A couple weeks in and so far, it works fine... except for the obnoxiously loud, vibrating fan.
    • the fan works with the test button :p
    • The fan is silent.
    • fan making rattle noise as if broken and cant get any help.......
    • On the plus side, the PSU was easy to install (or as easy as any PSU is to install), it works fine, and the powerful fan does a good job of pulling hot air out of the case, assuming you install it with the fan facing the center of the case
    • The fan is very quiet and can handle everything that my custom built HTPC throws at it.
    • Particularly like that the fan only runs when needed.
    • Although, with the size of the power supply, I doubt you won't have other components that will have more than enough fan noise so that you will never know how good the low sound is of the Corsair
    • Noisy fan
    • Very quiet fan, comes with all the cables you could need
    • :) No fans running as fast as they can like the last one - it's awesome!
    • It's surprisingly quiet as well, tiny fans are usually pretty loud, but this one is quiet, but still audible
    • I have six SSDs and two graphics cards on top of the usual modern components, and the fan on this PSU is still silent.
    • And the fan in this Corsair TX650M, is almost silent
    • I purchased this product due to its price, efficiency rating, larger cooling fans, and the single 12V rail design.
    • It's powering 2 fans and my gaming video card quite well and looks stylish for those of you who care about that sort of stuff.
    • Fan started dying shortly before the warranty period expired
    • While it does cost a bit more for a Platinum rated power supply, the efficiency and the silent fan much of the time are great features, and this is a power supply that is going to be reliable and last a long time
    • This suits all of my power needs the adjustable fan controller is amazing this PSU runs super quiet
    • The fan is quiet, about the same low level as any modern power supply unit
    • The 500W:- Too large to accommodate a full sized GPU in this case... though not a knock specifically against this product, it is something to consider on smaller builds.- The Fan wobbles and makes a rubbing sound
    • it has averaged 80+% efficiency consistently - another factor in keeping it quiet, I imagine (higher efficiency = less heat = less need for a cooling fan)
    • These are very efficient, work silent (no fan during normal operation), and overall are very good for the health of your PC in the long run
    • This has a silent fan that only kicks on when it's warm and so far it hasn't moved from 30c even under heavy load
    • I can keep my PC on without having to hear the annoying fan
    • The fan works, and even with it
    • Everything works as it should, I find it very useful to be able to measure the consumption of the PC in real time, efficiency, each voltage and its temperature
    • Unfortunately, the product does not look as good as in the pictures (only leaving this because the flat cables it is shown with were one of my primary reasons of buying)
    • My power supply started smelling as if some electronic was burning after about a year
    • I actually prefer this over braided designs as it is much faster to reach a nice looking result - less need to tie things down
    • It works as except.
    • Works as it should.
