My Asus mobo started shutting down telling me I have a unreliable PSU after about 11 months use

Purchased not on Amazon, but through MicroCenter but this PSU is bad enough I have to share my experience

I bought this PSU from a different supplier but love how this thing runs and operates.

I'm using this in a CoolerMaster Elite 130 which supports full size ATX power supplies, but I want to use a smaller PSU to gain CPU cooler clearance and cable management less claustrophobic

Here's the deal guys, if you're reading this, I am not ripping on Corsair by any means, they make fantastic PSU's however their "lower" tier units just aren't worth it at their price points

Yesterday my PSU started to overheat and shut down

I am scared that I may end up needing to use the warranty some day with this PSU because my system (i7 6700k + GTX1080) is drawing 225 watts 24/7 (sometimes more) and the fan does not even kick on at all which means the PSU gets super hot and stays that hot 24/7

Definitely, a solid PSU is a wise investment and I tend to advise not to cut corners here

I can't comment on how quiet this is scientifically, other review sites can do that, but I can say I use this with a Rosewill Legacy U3, a GTX 960 Asus Strix, and Noctua NH-U12S (cooling a Xeon 2697), and this PSU is no more audible than these other purposely quiet/silent parts.

The computer is NOT a gaming PC (it's a photo editing rig), so the PSU wasn't stressed.

This PSU is great for the price that it is and keeping my desktop running

The rest of the rig is dead silent, and as quiet operation was the main concern I had when building this latest rig, the noisy PSU alone has completely ruined the build
