Oh, and not only is the size perfect for serving as an oversized mouse pad AND as an extra friction surface to keep my keyboard from sliding around (I put the keyboard on the left side of the pad, and it takes up almost exactly half the size of the mat's width), but by doing this it also muffles a little of the sound on my desk when I type.(Obviously the keys themselves still make noise, but some of the sound is mitigated from the keyboard-on-desk action as the keyboard is pressed on with each key stroke
