The effects are kinda cool, being able to light up only the keys you need is great for gaming in the dark.

You can choose between one that brightly lights up each key you press followed by a slow fade, or the much cooler ripple effect that causes the light to radiate out from your key press to all other keys

The red LED lighting effects are impressive but not really necessary

There ample different color effects you can apply to the keyboard and almost limitless customization, after you can figure out how to use and navigate through the confusing CUE software
