For weeks I couldn't get the wooden cogs to hold their tuning, I was struggling just to play across one string, and the best sound I could get out was a screechy almost scale

The sound is horrible and the tailpiece broke off after the first week

The sound is actually better than my other violins, however as soon as I took the plastic cover off of the bow, the metal coil unwound, and as for the black color, it looks as though they spray painted an old violin and put it in the case before it was completely dry

This is not an instrument one should expect to play in a symphony hall - but it is capable of producing a decent enough sound for a beginner (note: the instrument is capable, that does not mean that the beginner is capable)

So before I could enjoy, music I had to first achieve sound, I took my new "beautiful" violin to a local violin repair shop, I had the strings, bridge, rosin and the tailpiece replaced; the cost including tuning and labor $120

Within 5 minutes the string broke and the violin never made a sound to even begin with

The case is Amazing and i love the sound of it

It has a great sound and it's good if you are learning to play violin because in some years you'll need a better violin

when they warm up they have a nice warm sound.

I used it for the first time on the bow and it created the clear sound I was looking for in as little as five seconds

even the man who has the local 'string shop' said it has good sound!

Once I did these things, I was able to get great sound out of my new violin

That took quite a few hours to get into place, and it fell which compounded the task, but was worth it for the improved sound

this is too cheap to be real but its practical I have tried very bad violins and this one has a outstanding sound

As a noob, I know I won't be producing any good sounds anytime soon.

Had to use rosin on it for 20 minutes to get it to even vibrate the strings at all, another 10 to get a decent sound

Sure the sound still has much to be desired, but the TLC it's been given has improved it greatly and it was such a precious gift

the bow is of lesser quality even though i paid cheap for the violin, it should have came with a bow that can actually make a decent sound

It was the worst sound.

I was impressed that it didn't look cheap and the sound was really nice

And then there will be all sort of other problems the Pegs will slip forever and the sound will never be satisfactory

The instrument itself for the most part is well built and holds a good sound

i had waited 4 weeks past its expected arrival as well but the instrument is very well maintained for good sound and quality

Perfect Starter violin, good sound and good quality

just what i was looking for great sound

The thick laquer on it kills the sound and was very poorly done, so I began to sand it off and saw it is made from plywood, not solid spruce and maple the add states

My son has had this for a bit now,it is a great starter, per his violin teacher, it has good sound
