The problem is - from all the research I've done - none of the new stylish portable record players are any better than this one

The bottom line:A nice player but given the engineering issues, which could have easily and relatively inexpensively been overcome, I don't feel that the $99 ...ish price is a good value.

The player looks nice and the case seems to made reasonably well, but functionally I would feel that a more acceptable price for this item would be in the $60 to $80 price range.

You can definitely find better record players for the price payed.
