I have been searching for years for a toaster that made toast like the one my Grandmother had when I was little.. her toast was the best.. just the perfect shade of crispy doneness.

The lever was flimsy, it did not toast according to the controls or pop up the toast clear of the toaster.

It worked fine for most of the time, but now completely burns the toast on one side in the right slot

Three is a nice well toasted piece of bread, two is good for thinner breads or if you like your toast just golden

My complaint with this toaster is simply this, the adjustable dial goes from 1 to 6, at 4.5 and using conventional white bread, standard thickness the toaster produces perfect toast, golden brown, slightly crunchy and evenly toasted

We recently thought to replace our 22 year-old Cuisinart 2-slice toaster that has worked perfectly and has always produced evenly-browned toast.

If you like your toast, or bagel with one side burnt and one side evenly toasted, this is the machine for you

Good toasting Ability, easy to clean

My problems with this toaster are beyond the inconsistent toasting.

Bread comes out only warm not toasted even with darkness control set to maximum.

Wildly erratic - one day the toast comes out white, the next black.

I am using a replacement now (Cuisinart quickly replaced it) and the toast is a bit darker but still not very dark.

It must be toasted 2x for proper toasting.

Looking through all the reviews of major brand toasters, uneven toasting is the most common complaint.

March 5 2012:After 4 years of use, this toaster continues to work perfectly, yielding perfect toast, when the knob is set halfway to max

I would recomend it to anyone that is looking to make good toast

Toaster is flimsy and if toasting one piece of bread, one side is darker, so toasting is uneven.

The timer and toast quality started getting funny right away and the maximum settings for dark toast was totally off

Uneven toasting, bagel function does not do anything, the push down button feels cheap.

It is random how long your bread toasts for so no matter what the setting is you will get warm bread one day and burnt toast the next on the same settings with the same bread.

It has wider heating element spacing similar to our old Cuisinart and does produce more evenly-toasted bread than other modern toasters.

Sometimes it be way too light, sometimes it burned the toast, and the controller didn't do anything to change it.

Well... the top few coils do not toast a normal slice of bread as well as the lower coils... so the bread and bagels only get toasted halfway up... very strange and a pain to have to turn them over and do a second toast to get complete coverage

The main issue with the modern toaster is achieving even toasting on both sides of your bread.
