Would spend the $20-30 more to get a better machine!

In reading other reviews, it seems that the most common reasons to hate this machine is coffee that is not hot enough, or coffee all over the countertop.

I clean my machine every 3 months along with the deep cleaning the carafe itself (as mentioned above)

The degradation in quality and/or design has compromised any hope for our previously favorite coffee machine.

This was to replace a DeLonghi, 12 cup, which was an awesome machine

This replaced a Cuisinart grind & brew which worked great for 10years, the grinder was the first to go then the whole machine stopped working,replaced with another Cuisinart without the grind & brew & love it.

It is a great machine and easy to use, keeps coffee hot up to 2 hrs or so.

This machine doesn't make the coffee hot enough to stay warm unless you're drinking it right away

I have always used tap water and the charcoal filters and have had not problem keeping the machine clean and functioning

so I followed instructions by the manufacturer to clean the machine with 1/3 cup white vinegar and 2/3 cup water via the clean cycle

Something is wrong with the heating element and the machine brews coffee that is scalding hot and too weak.

There is no reason to clean your machine with the Clean cycle more than every 3 months UNLESS the machine itself indicates that it needs cleaning (the Clean light will blink when the machine itself feels it needs to be cleaned).13
