Even when it miracles you a ground-free pot of coffee, the clean up is worth mentioning

Anyone who likes fresh ground coffee and likes it strong and hot will love this coffee maker

It does what it says it will do with the burr fresh grind coffee but as any coffee person knows it's only a great cup of coffee if the temperature is correct and stays there till the last cup.

We also don't have to clean up coffee grinds that fly all over the counter from grinder to filter

Only reason not at 5 stars...it is a little bit of a chore to keep the ground chute clean...but for me, set at medium grind for 8 cups, fill up the pot to 12, and let it go.

This coffee pot is not quite as maintenance-free as I would have wanted, however you can't go wrong with fresh ground coffee every morning

The grind is a tiny loud, but I suppose a quieter grinder would be much more expensive?!

If you keep the grind chute clean (read the instructions) and run a pot of vinegar water through the unit once every two months or so, no reason why this unit shouldn't prove to be as durable and satisfying for you as it has been for us.

If you have it dialied into 10 cups AND the strenght set to strong this sucker will end up grinding anout 13 cups of beans

Also, if you have someone sleeping, and you want to make sure nobody wakes up, you can always set the program (or without program) to just use ready ground coffee from the basket (you will have to prep it accordingly

This "grind and brew" coffee maker was a big disappointment

I do wish another company made a dependable grind and brew 12-cup coffee maker..

But this combination also results in the user having to pay attention to the set-up (line up the arrows on the grounds basket, yo) and consistent cleaning (not all the ground coffee travels through the chute into the basket cleanly and it is a fine grind and its path to the basket can get clogged fairly soon if you ignore it too long.)

so I can sneak a cup while the pot brews and the Burr grinder isn't as noisy as other grind and brew models

My wife and I love the coffee so much more when fresh ground, and it was a loyal morning partner for many years.

I really like the fresh grind feature - which was the main reason I bought the unit and paid more than I had planned for a new coffeemaker

I make 9 cups every day and the 8 setting and medium grind are perfect.

We only used reverse osmosis water in the unit, kept them very clean, loved the fresh ground coffee in the morning but the units are not reliable and their warranty stinks

Varying the strength of fresh ground coffee is wonderful with just a touch of a button

We love the grind off option and use pregrind beans, and the machine brews it perfectly.

Accidentally killed our first Grind-and-Brew by removing the pot and leaving it on (don't do that)

There is nothing like the smell of fresh ground coffee in my kitchen in the morning!

The grind is significantly coarser on the old one and the coffee tastes weaker because of that.

Once you get one that doesn't clog while grinding and burn out the motor you will be happy with it

The strength selector is great as I like my coffee strong

And if it ever fails I will immediately but another one just like it.

I have it set to grind for 12 cups of strong coffee but can only add enough water for just under 9 cups to get coffee as strong as I like it.

Other grind-n-brews we tried would beep every 2 minutes for up to an hour if we did not take the pot off.3

After purchasing 2 other grind-n-brews (and returning them) we ordered this one and love it!1

I really liked the look and convenience of the grind n brew and had good luck with Cuisinart brand coffee makers in the past but not this one.
