So if you have older devices in your network then you either have to select all on WEP or buy a device or an adapter like a USB wireless interface so everything can be WPA.

A device would be on one band, lose it's signal, switch to the other, lose it's signal, and then start using my data plan

So, in short, if you don't have long ethernet runs involved, its a nice device with stellar wifi performance.

Choosing the right place to put the router, upgrading to the most stable firmware, and choosing the right channel/band/bandwidth are just as important as the device itself

But I was looking for an IPv6 capable router and contrary to the vendor marketing blurbs on Amazon, this device does NOT support ipv6

It identified one of our Android ereaders as a 'suspect' device and recommended blocking it with no other information except a MAC..

This device really works well.

It handles multiple devices extremely well.

But both routers I purchased were connected to the internet and all devices (asus laptop, mac mini, smart tv, roku, ipad, printer) with the basic setup option within 5 minutes

Not using the device as a home cloud, so I can't write a review on that feature at this time.

Not bad for the money; device connects with no issues, easy to set up and when service is interrupted, device remembers its settings and reconnects when service is re-established

This was a replacement of an earlier version D-Link router which blew in a lightning storm.

Neither construction nor weather help the wi-fi, yet this D-Link functions quite well
