D'Addario Prelude Cello String Set, 4/4 Scale, Medium Tension

    • This strings are not the best you can buy but are cheap and bring a nice sound combined with a good bridge, good for inicial students.
    • These are a nice sounding string for a moderate price.
    • My conclusion... the cheapo Chinese strings were entirely adequate by comparison and if you are just looking for budget strings (what the Preludes are sold as) there are less expensive solutions than these.
    • Great strings for the beginner and advancing student.
    • They are a decent sounding string but can be a bit shrill at times
    • The Prelude A string is better, less harsh, than the cheapo A string but the other three are probably about equivalent except that the Prelude C needed more attack with the bow to get started
    • these are great strings and a great price - work wonderfully on my cello (i have a celio) and for my needs (i'm an adult beginner).
    • The A string is especially bright
    • I had forgotten this lesson of tougher strings for the cello to prevent snapping while turning, have been hanging around perlon core loving violin teachers too long
    • Nice A string, shrill D.
    • I'm surprised that a D'addario product failed in this way, but I can't recommend these strings.
    • I buy these strings to have on hand for replacements when student strings break
    • Unless you have absolutely zero budget for your instrument, upgrading from cheap strings to these ones is money well spent.
    • The strings sound fine but the first time I went to tune
    • We put these strings on my daughter's cello that had cheap stock strings, and were surprised at the huge improvement in tone.
    • I'm sure these would be great strings for my little
    • Nice A string, shrill D.
    • String broke the first time I tuned it
    • But the C string is fine and sounds pretty decent.
    • Perfect way to upgrade the lower models of Cecilio cellos and greatly improve the sound over the cheap strings that come on the cello
    • The orchestra helper has a tough time tuning cellos and always seems to break a string a year
    • Beautiful sound, very heavy, thick strings - son is very happy with how his cello sounds now.
    • For the price, D'addario makes the best strings, hands down
    • Good strings for the price
    • Within 1 week, 2 strings have broken already.
    • Works ok for cheap backup strings, but they have a very metallic, artificial sound
    • These strings were affordable and suitable for what I need them for.
    • The one or two cellos are usually drowned out by all the violins with their cheap and bright strings, you can hear these strings.
    • The package took a week to arrive and then the string we replaced (A) broke the second time it was played on
    • These strings are beautiful
    • GreAt strings and price!
    • i noticed a fuller sound from my cello when i've used these strings as compared to cheaper ones.
    • So for my purposes these strings are great
    • the A string broke
    • i really like these strings.
    • good strings for a great price.
    • These strings sound good on student level instruments
    • The D string rings a little Dead but the C really reings out.
    • These strings are lovely and produce a rich, warm sound
    • Their tone is warm and yet the strings are responsive
    • c string broke the first week
    • If you are looking for good strings, without having to spend over $100, then I cannot recommend these enough.
    • Used these to replace some crappy worthless strings that came with my cheap electric cello, and they get the job done just as well as I expected.
    • I get a rich high note without the screeching of the cheap strings
