I play bass in a Progressive metal band and we tune fairly low(Drop Ab)I have a bass with a 35" scale, but even with that extra length most 5 string bass sets aren't heavy enough to handle a Ab for the 5th stringI used to use a set with a .135 for the 5th, but it just barely held the note and was extremely muddy and dull due to how low the tension was

I needed something slightly thicker to get the E to sound right.

With this string it easily holds the note and stays in tune well, as well as having great tone and tension even when tuned down to Ab
