The tone is decent for practicing or just fooling around and the range of volume is perfect for when you don't want to disturb anyone (too much).

Plugged into a larger amp (you will need an adapter) it gives any instrument incredible tone and the overdrive channel is HUGE

I set the amp knobs to about mid level and had the switch set to the clean side.......nice tone

The Vox's own AUX input (so you can play along with your portable music collection via ipod, smartphone, laptop, etc.) is another nice feature, as are the LED E-string tuner and clean/overdrive switch (to add some "crunch" on rock tunes)
