I prefer it on the clean channel with the drive up about 1/3 and the volume all the way

I've been using it for a few week now (20 minutes a day avg.) and have yet to replace the batteries!The sound is very good and the volume is perfect for an apartment or a small venue where there isn't any power

My grandson's toy piano that I bought at the dollar store has better tone and volume

Want a little distortion though and you have more than enough volume

If you are looking for an acoustical sound then the volume might be a little low, but still usable.

don't turn your guitar volume up all the way, start at super low volume and work your way up from there

Keeping this little jewel within reasonable volume levels will reward you with some pretty sublime tones

I do have to crank the volume and gain on the device pretty high as well as have the volume on the guitar pretty high to hear anything when in "clean" mode, but it does amplify it enough to hear just fine in a small room, which is just what I wanted.

The Vox's own AUX input (so you can play along with your portable music collection via ipod, smartphone, laptop, etc.) is another nice feature, as are the LED E-string tuner and clean/overdrive switch (to add some "crunch" on rock tunes)
