The strings are pretty hard to strum so you won't be expecting to hear great sound but a good purchase for the rough and tough toddler.

Unfortunately, it doesn't make very loud guitar sounds.

As far as the sound being soft: Is that such a bad thing?

The sound won't take your breath away, but my little guy enjoyed strumming and having his own instrument.

The sound is not bad, just OK (as expected).

Very hard to get a decent sound out of it, very hard times tune

The guitar strings loosen up in a matter of minutes of tuning them and the sound is horrible

It makes great sound and is easy to play

It is definitely just a decoration (barely a toy since the kid can't make much of a nice sound on it)

Although there aren't any batteries that can be removed to quiet it down, it's much more of a pleasant sound than some of the toys that I've seen or heard being produced these days
