    Dixon Ticonderoga Wood-Cased Graphite Pencils, #2 HB Soft, Black, 24 Count (13926)

    • The lead is strong and the eraser is good

    • This version has a cool & different black finish and erasers, but you do pay a premium (-1 star) for this color choice as the plain, old yellow version can be had in greater quantities and at better pricing per pencil if you need LOTS of pencils.

    • The Mexican Ticonderogas were generally thought to be superior to the Chinese versions, because the Ticonderogas made in China largely used basswood/non-cedar wood, had a smallish eraser head, and the leads were poorly centered, and the ferrules were poorly painted as well
    • Surprisingly, the erasers on the ends of these pencils do a nice job erasing some parts of my precious art as I work...without ruining it!
