When I press the button, I can see a faint flash of what setting it’s currently on, but it never fully appears on the screen, and whatever string I pluck is either shown incorrectly and upside down (while also only flickering and never completely showing up on screen) or doesn’t register at all.

It also to my suprise when tuning the open strings gives you the actual string number next to the note (wasn’t expecting that at all but is awesome for someone new to tuning)

Good luck tuning your E string

It works on our bass as well as our 12 string and 6 strings.

Seems like you need to be closer to being in tune before the display shows the right string and frequency.

The display is easy to read and pretty foolproof - keep tuning the string until the display turns green
