This unit also does extend forward farther than anything else I found on the market, like 22".I wish the hinges would glide a lot smother but again, if installed correctly you can trust that you won't be hearing your obscenely expensive and colossal TV crashing to the floor at 2 am (because obviously something like that would only happen in the middle of the night)

This TV is a monster and at 100 pounds, it's heavy.

I don't know why the builder decided they only needed 24" spacing, but I guess back in the 80's there wasn't much need to hang TVs on walls
