So after almost exactly twenty years, my beloved Bose MediaMate speakers finally began to tear out in the right side

These speakers blew the Bose right out of the water.

I'm very happy I went with these over the more expensive Bose Sound Companion III's.

worth the extra cost over other speakers, and worth choosing over the more expensive Bose, especially if you're in front of them for hours on end.
