Edifier R980T 4" Active Bookshelf Speakers - 2.0 Computer Speaker - Powered Studio Monitor (Pair)

    • I found that the only way to control these VIA remote control was to hook them up through the t.v.'s 1/8" headphone out, but no background noise, and clean sound (though I have to adjust the speakers volume up in order to play loud without distorion, due to the headphone out's level exceeding the speaker's input range) ... put one on each side of the bed and now my movie's and music sound clear and full at night without much overall volume.
    • I was trying to listen to music quietly and read and had to have the music slightly louder than I wanted or have no music at all.
    • Using an external volume control (inline variable resistor, basically, on each channel) allows me to drive them at 50%+ from the PC side and set the onboard volume to 30% (so they don't just cut out completely) and still get a nice volume range (quiet background music while working through loud enough to pick out details while playing games on the PC) without picking up and amplifying a lot of processing noises from the PC.
    • I am an amateur music producer, who thrives on a super tight budget.
    • BUT... if you like clean music more than volume and bass these are an ok starting out point for a pair of powered speakers
    • My gaming experience is better, and my music sounds great!
    • However bass is enough for any music to sound good
    • At times I like my music loud, and believe these will be adequate.

    • They sound about as good as my M-Audio speakers, and you can't beat that clarity for the price
    • lolAnd again I'm trying my best to express how happy I
