    Edifier R980T 4" Active Bookshelf Speakers - 2.0 Computer Speaker - Powered Studio Monitor (Pair)

    • The most impressive thing is that you really don't notice the lack of a subwoofer, which is a total departure from most 2.1 systems, which really lean on the subwoofer to even out the satellite speakers
    • These things are pretty much all sparkle with no mids or lows
    • These things sound amazing for how small they are

    • These are true bookshelf-sized studio monitor speakers, with a volume range far beyond my needs for my small office - and that's a good thing
    • The only thing that sorta bothers me is there is a roll-off at about 180hz unless I crank the bass knob

    • Since the volume knob is hidden on the back of the first speaker, the best thing to do is to max your audio source volume, and then adjust the speaker volume knob down from max until the distortion stops
    • With that in mind if you have a tube preamp or DAC that you can feed into these things holy
    • Some people would view this as a bad thing or like they are cutting corners or
    • For such a small size and such a low price, I can only say mostly good things about these little speakers
    • The only thing would have appreciated at this price range is a headphone output in the front
