Edifier R980T 4" Active Bookshelf Speakers - 2.0 Computer Speaker - Powered Studio Monitor (Pair)

    • They have adjustable volume and bass
    • These speakers provide good sound quality at loud enough volumes, but only have about 10 ft of adequate bass coverage
    • They have nice sound with good bass and crisp highs they have a decent volume to them as well.
    • The bass adjust as well as the volume control both allow fine-tuning
    • The only thing I did not like was the volume
    • Lowest possible volume with knob and direct audio is too loud for use with things like game consoles.
    • A volume remote would have been nice but not completely necessary
    • So the lowest volume on some things I play is the loudest volume I would be able to play at this location
    • I love the easy volume control and the adjustable bass.
    • The size is good, I like having the volume and bass as separate knobs
    • Easy to setup decent volume decent sound quality
    • These sound pretty bad, highs seem to be really tapered at 8khz, and they distort at louder volumes
    • Using an external volume control (inline variable resistor, basically, on each channel) allows me to drive them at 50%+ from the PC side and set the onboard volume to 30% (so they don't just cut out completely) and still get a nice volume range (quiet background music while working through loud enough to pick out details while playing games on the PC) without picking up and amplifying a lot of processing noises from the PC.
    • Volume, bass and power switch on the back are easily accessible along with aux inputs.
    • Fantastic sound quality and volume, great for adding to a TV if not looking for a full-fledged home theater system
    • Nice looking, easy to install, good volume with little distortion
    • These speakers provide good sound quality at loud enough volumes, but only have about 10 ft of adequate bass coverage
    • Some people have complained that the lack of a more easily accessible volume knob is a detriment, but if you're using these for a computer as I
    • I like to listen to my music at a very loud volume and they still managed to sound great even at full volume
    • I do a lot of late night listening and even the lowest volume setting is disturbing to other members of my family.
    • It is louder by itself, THX certified and comes with a sub so at 100 bucks you will save some money gain some volume and not have the headache
    • Something that had great volume and a nice bass
    • It's been nice to crank the tunes up to an unreasonable volume and know that these can handle the full range of sound from my wide array of music without me worrying they'll explode
    • Something interesting I noticed is that there is about a .5 second delay between moving the volume or bass knob, and the volume or bass actuallychanging
    • They sound about as good as my M-Audio speakers, and you can't beat that clarity for the price
