Electro-Harmonix Metal Muff Distortion with Top Boost Guitar Effects Pedal

    • Great box nice high end boost
    • The boost is useable, but your settings will be very limited on the boost for it to be anything more than effective
    • I use an Vox AC4TV and an alpine Les Paul: it's a lot of white, but plugging into the Muff turns my mild-mannered setup into a tonal maelstrom, spitting out buzzing, fizzy Electric Wizard leads one moment and massive downtuned riffing the next; courtesy of the top boost button (less is more there)
    • The Noise Gate and Mid Scooper switches are far better pedal accessories than a Top Boost
    • I don't care for the top boost, but the rest of the controls are great
    • With the distortion turned down and the boost (or EQ) upped, you can even use it as a pre-amp boost pedal.
    • The "Top Boost" does provide what it advertises, but if the pedal itself is already Dimebagged and you engage the Top Boost... it just sounds weird and unmusical
    • The Top Boost is perfect for cutting through a mix with a solo or riff without having to crank the mids
    • Top boost is always on and set between 10-11 treble and mids are set about the same, bass is set at about 3 and distortion is set at about 9
    • this is a must have pedal for any rock player, tight compressed distortion sound , you could play with the EQ to get the sound your looking for, it goes from an overdrive sound to a really heavy distortion, It's build to last forever, the sustain is fantastic and the top boost give you another range of possibility's.the only downside is the battery, get the power adapter , batteries wont last more than 2 or 3
    • The top boost is great for making your solos cut through your bands mix in live situations (Although I couldn't see any other use for it)Absolutely buy a power adapter if you do not have one.
    • If you need more control with EQ, This pedal with switchable top boost is the ticket
    • Drains batteries though and top boost is a little nasty (ice pick)
    • i played this in a store and fell in love, its got a bass knob which is fantastic for giving your playing impact, most pedals don't seem to include the 3 band eq knobs for some reason.the top boost is great for leads, no need to use another pedal or another pickup even to get through, just kick on the top boost
