BEAUTIFUL, transparent distortion tone

This is one of the best distortion units I have ever tried at any price..

The soul food has just enough distortion to make things interesting without going crazy

This pedal has very warm open distortion which doesn't remove nuances of playing.

The distortion sounds wonderfully warm and is not too muddied.

My pedal order is a Dunlop Cry Baby, EHX Soul Food, MXR Super Badass Distortion, and a Zoom G21NU guitar processor in my effects loop for the noise gate and modulation effects

It may be just a little too tamed for a good blues distortion, or it may be too much, you really gotta find that sweet spot on the drive dial

It's a little counter intuitive, but this light, transparent distortion is great for giving an electric violin a smoother, more natural sound

I use it as just a very light dirt and its by far one of my favorite distortion
