The cast iron holds enough heat that even when your eye shuts off the pot doesnt completely cool

Its cheap and the heating element and grate don't seem to fit right.

It's compact, heats fast and is easy to clean.

They make other burners with more wattage, which I have also used, but this one puts out enough heat for my purposes.

The top heat circle is moving, if you have kids around and if they touch the pot, it can fall off

Thankfully I planned on using this as a heating element for a smoker, which a low heat is perfect for smoldering

Bad- heating element is not too firmly placed within the unit, making a pot shift if not carefully placed.

I'd still probably go for the one with a solid heating plate but in a pinch, this one has been great.

Same story as with all coil burners, they do not produce consistent and constant heat.

Also the Kaloud Lotus heats up well on this, it doesn't get hot enough to warp the Kaloud, but will pre-heat it without issue.

It works as described, has enough heating power for my needs

Also, when heating up, it heats from the outside portion of the coil inwards, so you may need to use at least a medium sized pot in order to get any benefit when heating on the lower settings.

And also the plastic frame broke off as if it had been weakened by the heat
