This thing doesn't produce enough heat to even fry an egg, and good luck ever boiling a pot of water.

I prefer not to have aluminum in contact with the water or food, however, since I don't think dissolved aluminum (trivalent ions) is a good thing to have floating around inside you.

Not quite capable of boiling a 2 qt pot of water, though it will keep things warm

Those things were not adequate for cooking any real meals much beyond heating up a can of something (and a nightmare in terms of regulating their heat), so I got this electric burner and pulled a similar one from the same manufacturer out of storage.

This hot plate is the worst thing I've ever bought in my life.

If it wasn't for needing something that's below 700 Watts I would definitely have got something better and a little bit more solid but for what it is this thing works great.

only thing bad about this is it didn't still heated very long

It heats up very quickly, gets very very hot (we never used it on high, even at medium high it got so hot the pam oil spray pushed past its smoke point and turned black), and surprisingly cooled down really quickly as well, within 10 minutes (probably more like 5) the thing was cold to the touch

This little thing is *PERFECT
