Motor is quiet and changed picture on our projector to high quality.

After reading the PDF, it would seem Elite does this to make sure you understand that over adjusting the drop (ie. letting the screen drop too far past its maximum drop) will damage the motor and void your warranty

The screen does come down slowly, but I'm not in that much of a hurry that a 30 second difference makes or breaks my opinion (though faster might break the motor).I would recommend to friends.
